Tenuta San Carlo is immersed in one of the most natural and uncontaminated landscapes of Tuscany. It extends from the coast of the Mediterranean Sea through marshlands, pine forests and open fields.
The way we grow food reflects the environment that surrounds us. To grow the highest-quality rice, we listen to the Earth and respect nature. In 2015, we started the multiyear transition to certified organic production. We grow our rice according to strict organic practices, without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers.
From the preparation of our fields, to the selection of our rice varieties and the timing of the harvest, we follow a sustainability ethic and play close attention to every detail of the production process. After the harvest, the rice is processed through an artisanal stone-processing method that ensures uniformity and consistency in the rice kernels. The result is a natural and sophisticated rice, from our fields to your table.
